BCI Engineers and Scientists

BCI has provided comprehensive professional services to Cemex Construction Materials for more than twenty years. Those services have included design, permitting, construction monitoring and performance evaluation of earth dams used for water storage and disposal of mine tailings at an active limestone quarry. Reservoir development included two large abatement closures requiring extensive seepage protection measures, compaction and material control, and monitoring protocol. For years, BCI has provided comprehensive services for the design and construction of several miles of tailings pond dams ranging in height from 30 feet to 110 feet and enclosing several thousand acres.

BCI currently provides annual dam inspection services and associated reporting and engineering services to address potential dam failures due to karst activity, slope instability, and design repairs to maintain operational ponds.
