Scope
 BCI has provided comprehensive professional services to Rinker Materials for more than twenty years. Those services have included design, permitting, construction monitoring and performance evaluation of earth dams used for water storage and disposal of mine tailings.
This particular project included design, permitting and construction monitoring of two cooling pond reservoirs that serve a 150- megawatt, co-generation facility. Reservoir development included two large abatement closures requiring extensive seepage protection measures, compaction and material control, and monitoring protocol.
BCI monitored construction of more than five miles of tailings dams ranging in height from 30 feet to 110 feet and enclosing several thousand acres. BCI currently provides annual dam inspection services and associated reporting.
