In 2006, BCI was retained by the American Lokring Corporation to conduct Phase I and II Environmental Assessments (ESAs) of the Environmental Accessories property, which was formerly operated as a storage and non-transport facility for hazardous materials associated with an environmental remediation business. The assessment was completed in accordance with applicable ASTM Standards (E1528-05, E1903-97(2003)).
Specific project tasks included:
- Detailed inspection of the property & adjacent facilities
- Interviews with persons knowledgeable of the properties
- Review of historical information including aerial photographs, chain-of-title records & past site operations
- Electronic database search of state & federal environmental records
- Review of local regulatory records
The Phase II ESA consisted of the collection of soil and groundwater samples utilizing a GeoProbe Rig and analysis of samples for constituents of concern (volatile and semi-volatile organic compounds, RCRA metals) to evaluate potential impacts from site operations and reported petroleum releases from adjacent facilities.
