Scope
BCI was hired by the Scott Lake Association to provide investigation and remediation services for Scott Lake and adjacent residential properties. BCI was responsible for preparing a remedial plan for initial stabilization and for restoring the shoreline to its historic location.
The project was completed through several phases to include the following:
Emergency Response and Monitoring: BCI evaluated the initial sinkhole impacts to the lake and surrounding properties by performing a bathymetric survey, assessing slope failures and land movement, attending project meetings with property owners and regulatory officials, mapping and aerial photography, and performing a geologic and geotechnical assessment and development of remediation alternatives.
Data Collection/Conceptual Plan: BCI collected field data in the form of soil borings and a topographic survey of the upland area. Homeowners were able to review several cut/fill conceptual remediation plans to determine that which was in their best interests.
Remedial Plan: Following homeowner input, BCI prepared a preliminary plan, which was presented for final approval. The proposed repair plan was submitted to state regulatory officials where we discussed the shoreline restoration plan.
