 BCI staff performed the following tasks while working with the South Florida Water Management District on the Kissimmee River Restoration Project.

Conducted detailed residential flood Impact evaluation of upper Kissimmee River Chain of Lakes as a result of change in regulation schedule required to support Kissimmee River Restoration.

Developed ARC info GIS database to locate, characterize, and dimension thousands of residential dwellings, roads, septic tanks, docks, drainage systems, and other improvements.

Collected data using GPS technology and data loggers with pre-defined dictionaries.

Used GIS to assess degree of impact at various water level ranges.

Developed and evaluated complete costs associated with incremental impacts to define optimal cost/benefit relationship.

Developed alternative floodproofing feasibility options that could be implemented to mitigate expected impacts.
