Inverness Downtown Revitalization
|
|
Scope
The City of Inverness downtown is considered an historic district and was in need of extensive upgrade of roadways, landscaping, lighting, traffic optimization, sidewalks including special surface treatments and pavers, utility replacements and adjustments and drainage systems. BCI utilized their expertise in Community Development Block Grant (CDBG) funding to assist in project implementation.
BCI was responsible for all project elements including concept and final design, regulatory permitting, plans preparation, public workshops and education, and construction engineering inspection. BCI worked closely with the city staff to ensure the goals of all involved were implemented or considered in the final design. Project implementation was especially tricky, as the project had to be phased to accommodate an annual event within the city.
The project demonstrates BCI expertise in downtown revitalization, CDBG funding, fast track permitting and design, comprehensive streetscaping, and the ability to work closely with municipal staff and commissions.
