LaBelle Downtown Redevelopment

Scope

LaBelle Downtown RedevelopmentThe City of LaBelle is actively involved in improving the infrastructure throughout the city. Two sections of the city were identified as needing improvements: Commerce Avenue and the Englewood Terrace Development. Commerce Avenue is a developing commercial area, while Englewood Terrace is an existing residential neighborhood containing mostly mobile homes. Both developments were served by septic systems, and the Commerce Avenue area had an  insufficient water supply. These improvements were funded by grants from the Department of Community Affairs for the State of Florida and Community Development Block Grant (CDBG) funding.

The Commerce Avenue project  included the design and installation of 3,300 LF of 8-inch water main, 2,200 LF of 8-inch gravity sewer main, 1,300 LF of 4-inch force main, and a sanitary lift  station. The lift station was designed to accommodate approximately 16 acres of future expansion. Roadway crossings were provided for the water and sewer mains via an 8-inch directional bore and a 10-inch jack bore. Service laterals were provided to each parcel.

Englewood Terrace improvements included the design and installation of approximately 6,000 LF of gravity sanitary sewer main, a sanitary lift station, the connection of the sewer system to the 79 residences, and the abandonment of the existing septic tanks. The sanitary lift station was connected to an existing dry line force main that was previously installed.
