Scope
BCI was selected by Desoto County to provide comprehensive engineering and environmental support. Some of our services to date have included the following:
SR 17 Roadway Beautification
BCI, in conjunction with Glatting Jackson, developed a roadway beautification plan for SR17. The plan included landscaping, cross-walks, and various pedestrian amenities, performed in conformance to FDOT standards and specifications inclusive of clear zone recovery, line-of-sight, drainage and maintenance issues.
Deep Creek Park
This project involved the conceptual planning, design, and construction oversight of a regional park located on a tributary of the Peace River. The park will serve to expand the facilities associated with SWFWMD’s Delaney Creek preserve. The park includes hiking trails, picnic and educational pavilions, restrooms, a boat ramp, boat trailer and bus parking, ranger living quarters, and recreational areas.
CR 760
This project involved the rehabilitation of 760A, a 5-mile connector road spanning between US17 and SR31. Various alternatives were investigated including mill and resurface and reclaimed asphalt pavement (RAP).
Project Prairie
To support the continued economic development of the area, Desoto County directed BCI to design and permit one mile of new four lane divided roadway that will serve to connect the South County Industrial Park with US17.
LAP sidewalks
This project involved the design and permitting of numerous sidewalks throughout the City of Arcadia population center. Sidewalks were designed to FDOT standards.
