Scope
BCI assisted Polk County with the replacement of conflicting water and sewer utilities along 3.6 miles of a Florida Department of Transportation (FDOT) four-lane widening project. Our team was responsible for coordination with gas, cable, telephone, and electric power utilities within the construction corridor and with the FDOT for permit processing.
Twenty-six directional bores ranging from four to eighteen inches in diameter were required. All utilities were constructed in a phased manner to avoid interference with the roadway construction schedule.
BCI was responsible for the daily coordination of utility construction activities, the field resolution of utility conflicts, witness pigging and pressure testing of the systems, and biweekly FDOT progress meeting attendance.
