BCI Engineers and Scientists

The Plant City Industrial Park is located just south of the Plant City Airport. The City provides water and sewer services to the industrial park and also maintains a rail spur from the CSX railroad located on the south side of Sydney Road. The industrial park was developed in the 1970s and the drainage infrastructure construction was substandard.

This project involved work tasks related to both drainage and transportation systems. An investigation was completed to identify the causes and potential solutions to problems experienced by occupants within the industrial park due to off-site surface water runoff discharging into the industrial park catchment area. The City of Plant City required the assistance of an engineering consultant to thoroughly assess drainage conditions at the park and recommended solutions for improvement through a phased “Master Drainage Plan” approach.

The project scope also included the task of evaluating the roadway infrastructure to determine the necessary improvements to flow traffic through the industrial park to include road restoration work as required. BCI provided the necessary Drainage and Roadway Master Plan for this effort.
