BCI has completed a variety of intersection improvement projects for Polk County while performing transportation consulting services.
Those projects include:

SR 655 & Coleman Road Intersection BCI added a turn lane, revised signalization, eliminated deep roadside ditches, and designed a closed conveyance system to maintain existing right-of-way.

CR 542 & Dixie Highway Intersection BCI added signalization and left turn lanes and closed the drainage system to maintain existing right-of-way.

Bridges & Bennet Intersection BCI revised a five-way intersection into a four-way and three-way intersection to improve traffic flow safety.

SR 655 & Summerset Intersection Left turn lanes were added on SR 655 into a subdivision.

Buckeye Road & Buckeye Loop Intersection BCI added a left turn lane on each road.
BCI also completed the following comprehensive improvements:

Geotechnical investigation of roadway improvements including soil borings for pavements, drainage swales and mast arm foundations

Topographical survey and right-of-way control mapping

Roadway plans, drainage plans, signing and marking plans, and traffic control plans

Replaced open ditches with swales and ditch bottom inlets
-
Added left turn lanes and widened all travel lanes to 12 feet
-
Redesigned storm sewer system to accept flows from new intersection configuration

Redesigned intersection containing third diagonal street by dividing into two intersections

Prepared utility adjustment plans

Obtained drainage permits from Southwest Florida Water Management District
