White Rock Quarries | Vincent, Alabama | 2007 - Ongoing
BCI conducted a Resource Evaluation to review and summarize available data and make observations and recommendations regarding the likelihood of existing recoverable limestone resources at the Newala project site located near the town of Vincent, Shelby County, Alabama. The study included a review of the Geologic Survey of Alabama publications and records, published geologic data, data supplied by White Rock Quarries (WRQ), and data that BCI collected from core logging and sampling in Alabama.
In addition, BCI assisted in logging core samples from two different locations within the site. The intent of the study was to define a level of mineral quality suffi ciently accurate to assist WRQ in making a decision whether or not the deposit contained economically feasible quantities of high-grade limestone. This limestone should be capable of producing not only aggregate material for construction but also is of suffi cient quality to produce cement, lime, flue gas rock and scrubber material. Although, additional drilling would be required to substantiate this.
Drilling data and core sample analysis were prepared by a local geologic consulting firm based in Alabama. Data and opinions expressed herein are based primarily on two previous drilling events with reports prepared by outside sources. BCI assisted in logging the core and setting up the sample chemical analysis for product comparison.
