Scope

FDEP TMDL ConsultantThe Florida Department of Environmental Protection selected BCI to assist in the development and assessment of Total Maximum Daily Loads (TMDLs) for various impaired waters throughout the State of Florida. This work requires rigorous compliance with the Florida Impaired Waters Rule and the U.S. Clean Water Act's TMDL provisions.

The scope of services involves the following:

  • Watershed modeling
  • Waterbody modeling
  • Pollutant load reduction goals
  • Technical workshops
  • Technical writing
  • Data acquisition
  • Peer review

Services are just commencing under this master agreement. BCI was selected based on expertise in water quality and watershed modeling, hydraulic and hydrodynamic modeling, water quality and watershed assessment, BMP analysis and design, knowledge of EPA/FDEP rules and policies, and project management approach. Selection was also based on BCI's project approach and budget for a sample FDEP project which was to set TMDLs for the entire Kissimmee River System.
