Lake Hancock
Lake Level Modification

Scope

Lake HancockAs part of our master watershed management planning contract with the Southwest Florida Water Management District (SWFWMD), BCI has completed the second phase of a comprehensive lake level modification study on Lake Hancock. The overall objective of the project is to enhance dry weather low flows in the Peace River as required to satisfy approximately 50 percent of the minimum flows and levels (MFL). This 4,500-acre lake has been identified as a critical link in improving the periodicity and quality of flow to Charlotte Harbor.

Our services have included lake level modification analysis, digital terrain map preparation, floodplain and hydrologic modeling,  water resource assessments, stormwater management plan development, flood impact evaluations, pollutant load modeling, BMP optimization final impact analysis, development of mitigation measures and preparation of CERP permit package for lake level modification.
