Lake Hunter
TMDL Investigation

Scope

Lake Hunter TMDL InvestigationBCI, in conjunction with Janicki Environmental, was hired by the Florida Department of Environmental Protection (FDEP) to refine the Total Maximum Daily Loads (TMDLs) in Lake Hunter.

Lake Hunter is classified as a Class III waterbody with a designated use of recreation, propagation and maintenance of a healthy, well-balanced population of fish and wildlife. The Lake was included on the Verified List of impaired waters for the Hillsborough River Basin on May 2004.

BCI reviewed conditions at the lake in support of requests for data collection and more detailed modeling to refine TMDLs. The model will be used when selecting appropriate management options and will require development, verification, and use of a grid cell-based watershed model and a two-dimensional waterbody model.
