| Job Description |
Performs water quantity and water quality studies of surface water basins using major watershed models such as: HEC-HMS, HEC-RAS, SWMM, BASINS/HSPF, and District developed models; performs computer model calibrations and verifications of watershed simulations; maintains and updates water quantity/quality simulation models; determines data needs for watershed studies and computer simulations such as: GIS data, landuse and soil data, meteorologic data, and hydraulic data; designs hydrologic monitoring networks; performs statistical analyses and quality control on collected data and simulated results; performs hydraulic simulation of streams and rivers, such as stages and discharges; develops surface water profiles using HEC-RAS; generates stage-storage-discharge relationships for applications in other computer models. Writes technical reports and participates in the presentation of study results; and attends training and seminars. Performs field surveys; performs miscellaneous hydrologic analyses; and performs other related duties/projects as assigned.

| Qualifications |
Ph.D. in Environmental Engineering or related field from an accredited college or university. Must have knowledge of computer models such as HEC-HMS, HEC-RAS, SWMM, and BASINS/HSPF; computer programming in Fortran, and/or C, or C++; use of all office related software for word processing, spreadsheets, data base, e-mail, internet, etc.; and technical writing and communication.
