Scope
BCI was hired by the City of Lakeland under a master parks consultant contract to perform renovations to Booker T. Washington Park. Enhancements included the demolition of the existing basketball court and installation of a series of sidewalks, a pre-manufactured gazebo with installation of brick cladding around the columns, a half basketball court, and substantial landscaping. Existing playground equipment and several specimen trees remained untouched.
BCI performed the following tasking for this project:
-
Prepared and submitted permit documentation to the Southwest Florida Water Managemen District (SWFWMD)
-
Coordinated with the landscape architect regarding the preparation of design documents for inclusion in construction plans for submittal to the City
-
Reviewed survey provided by the City to determine the completeness and documentation of sufficient information to support engineering design efforts
-
Prepared bid documents to include construction plans and design specifications
-
Developed a grading plan to include specific finish elevations for the gazebo floor and the sidewalks throughout the site and ample contours to accomodate contractor site excavation in the manner desired by the City and the landscape architect
