  Deep Creek Park Improvements

Scope

Deep Creek Park ImprovementsThis project involved the conceptual planning, design, permitting and construction management assistance of a 22-acre regional park and recreational facility located on a tributary of the Peace River. The park serves to expand the facilities associated with the Southwest Florida Water Management District’s (SWFWMD) Delaney Creek reserve. The park includes hiking trails, picnic and educational pavilions, restrooms, a boat ramp, boat trailer and bus parking, ranger living quarters, and recreational areas.

A site survey was performed to identify topographic information, parcel boundary, utilities, and pertinent natural site features (wetlands, large trees and hydrologic features).

BCI completed the following project tasks:

  • Conceptual Park Plan
  • Identify stormwater management & utility requirements
  • Construction cost estimate
  • Permitting (Stormwater, ERP)
  • Gathering existent data to include soils data, drainage area boundaries, utilities, aerial photographs, flood zone information, and existing wetlands.
  • Geotechnical Evaluation: hand auger boring
  • Field Reconnaissance for Wetland Delineation
  • Meetings with the County and permitting agencies: SWFWMD
  • Construction Management Assistance
