Lake Bonny Park Boardwalk

Scope
BCI, in coordination with Glatting Jackson Kercher Anglin, Inc., was hired by the City of Lakeland to design a boardwalk for Lake Bonny Park extending 500 feet along the bank and 400 feet into the water.
BCI performed a topographic survey to determine location and size of necessary trees, lake bottom elevations, current water elevation, site improvements, and topographic information about the shoreline.
A grading plan based upon conceptual layout plans prepared by Glatting Jackson was prepared to meet stormwater and drainage requirements and included the necessary details for paving and drainage.
BCI coordinated the construction of 1-40 foot deep SPT boring, soil classification and provided a pile design for the proposed loading of the boardwalk. We prepared preliminary construction plans at 60 percent and final construction plans at 100 percent, and attended three review meetings with the City and Glatting Jackson.
Permit documentation for the boardwalk and site improvements as well as for the delineated wetland area was prepared for the City and the Southwest Florida Water Management District.
