Scope
BCI Engineers & Scientists, Inc. (BCI) converted abandoned wastewater treatment percolation ponds into off-line Stormwater Management Systems for Polk County's Natural Resources & Drainage Department. This process involved utilizing existing topography to maximize detention time and preferential flow paths. We also provided roadway flood duration relief for the adjacent subdivisions.
Overall we developed a low maintenance, highly effective stormwater management plan; a passive recreation opportunity for residents in the area; and some educational information via kiosks and displays.
